Welcome to the Hume Veterans' Information Centre (HVIC) Web Site. The following information will outline our aims and responsibilities as a non-profit, volunteer organisation; as we assist the veteran community with: disability pensions (VEA, SRCA and MRCA), Service pensions, War widow/Widower pensions, welfare advice and referral Advocacy.

Aim

The aim of HVIC is to provide confidential, pension and welfare information advice, for all veterans', service members and their dependants.

Operate an accessible pension and welfare service that provides a central reference point for all serving, ex-service defence members in North Eastern Victoria and the Southern Riverina Area of NSW.

Provide an alcohol free 'Drop in Centre' facility for comradeship and dissemination of information for veterans', service personnel and their dependants.

Provide competent management of pension and welfare services using accepted form of election of office bearers and committee.

Responsibilities

The following information details our responsibilities as a volunteer, non-profit, ex-service organisation:

To ensure that confidentiality is maintained between the centre, and its clients.

To uphold and respect the rights of individuals using the centre.

To ensure the pension/welfare officers hold current registration with Veteran Indemnity Training Association (VITA).

To ensure the centre is staffed by at least one 'VITA' registered pension/welfare officer at all times.

TO OPERATE THE CENTRE AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION, STAFFED BY VOLUNTEERS.
